India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2024

Rohit Sharma will lead the possible composition of the 15-member team that will tour the USA and the West Indies, with Hardik Pandya as his deputy.

India squad: Rohit Sharma (c), Hardik Pandya (vc), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Siraj

India has opted for a spin-heavy bowling lineup consisting of Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal. Jasprit Bumrah will lead the pace battery, supported by Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, and vice-captain Hardik Pandya.

Shubman Gill and Rinku Singh are the only players to be included in the reserves, along with pacers Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan.

A notable omission from India’s T20 World Cup squad is KL Rahul, featured in the previous two campaigns in 2021 and 2022.

India has been placed in Group A alongside its neighbors Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and co-hosts USA. It will start its campaign with a match against Ireland on June 5. The highly anticipated match against Pakistan is scheduled for June 9. The remaining two matches against the USA and Canada will be played on June 12 and June 15, respectively.

The eight teams will be divided into two groups of four, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the Super Eight phase. The top two teams from each Super Eight group will then progress to the semifinals, with the final on June 29th.
